Success! The Belief of Muslims

Posted by admin Posted on Nov - 24 - 2011

The first public seminar entailing Part One of the Islamic Personal Obligatory Knowledge Series was hosted by Bridging the Gap’s Educational Research & Resources Development Division and sponsored by the Two Oceans Education Foundation.

The seminar entailed a short course on The Belief of Muslims and Apostasy.  The meaning of the two testifications of faith, attributes of the prophets and apostasy were focussed on in light of evidences from the Qur’an, Prophetic sayings and the Islamic scholarly consensus.  The sections were taught by Hafieth Imaad Isaacs and Shaykh Abu Mamdouh Farouq al-^Abbadiyy, may Allah protect them and make them beneficial to the nation of Prophet Muhammad, may Allah raise his rank.

The seminar was well attended by members of the University of Cape Town’s student body and members of other educational institutions.  Each participant received a copy of The Summary of ^Abdullah al-Harariyy, Ensuring the Personal Obligatory Knowledge of the Religion: a comprehensive summary of most of the Islamic Personal Obligatory Knowledge entailing the essentials of belief, matters from purification to pilgrimage, some of the laws of dealings and the sins of the limbs.

The event ran smoothly with loads of informative and beneficial information as well as delectable treats.  To top it all off, participants who opted to register for the course plus paintball enjoyed a wonderful 42Km bus drive to Imhoff Farm in Kommetjie for some paintball-shooting action on its third day.  The seminar came to a wonderful end with some hotdogs and luxuries before returning home to the University of Cape Town.

As part of our integrated social responsibility, a total of R885 was donated by the seminar participants towards the Palestinian Cause.  These funds will be transferred by BTG to the Al-Quds Foundation SA.

We thank Allah for making this event a success and beseech His mercy to crown our sponsors, event partners, contributors and participants’ efforts with success insha-Allah.  A special thanks is due to the Two Oceans Education Foundation, Imaad Isaacs Foundation, Smart Staging Solutions and The University of Cape Town.
